In Year 8 PDHPE, students have been using their own devices to collaboratively create an annotated map to show the range of health services available in the local Merrylands area. This activity was completed using Google Maps and required students to collaborate and share with each other in real time. The class used a range of personally owned devices for this activity, including Windows 8 laptops and Chromebooks. This week selected year 7 & 8 classes have begun bringing their own devices to school to further enhance their learning. So far in Science students have used their devices to take photos and record video footage of experiments. Doing so allows students to have a more accurate record of their learning. The week's focus for allowing students to get used to taking photos, recording video and inserting them into a word processing or presentation app on tutor devices. Some Year 8 students are already bringing in their own devices to school.
